About

Hey, I’m Zara, based in Cambridge, NZ.
Wild Clay started as a creative outlet and quickly became something I loved sharing with others.
Each piece is handmade in small batches, embracing natural imperfections. No two pieces ever turn out the same, and no single piece is perfect.
Whether you’re gifting or keeping something special for yourself, I hope my pieces bring a little joy to your everyday.
I will eventually upgrade to an online store however in the meantime if you can please contact me to order. Please note Preorders are for around October delivery due to a pause in firing services.[email protected]

FAQ's

Are the pieces Dishwasher and Microwave safe? Yes! :)
I prioritise creating pieces that are dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe. I’m testing a few of the items as I go, and so far, so good!!
Do you ship nation-wide? Yes
Smallest box = North Island $14.00 (excl rural) South Island $19.00 (excl rural)
Do you ship to Australia? I am looking into it currently. Can you make custom items? Yes however the process can take around 2 months. What is the process of making pottery?
Well... Starting with designing the piece (considering shrinkage of 12%), weighing clay out for each piece, wedging , throwing, drying, trimming and branding, more drying, prepping and checking over each piece for the kiln, off to the kiln... (3 days in the kiln). Back from the kiln, cleaning and prepping each item, glazing each item, back to the kiln, (3 days in the kiln again). Back from the kiln, photography, pricing, putting all the seconds/duds away for myself or for gifting (forcing) onto family and friends regardless of how ugly it is.
